Nancy, it is our favorite time-saver to get the prep work done when we're cooking other meals. I've tried dedicating entire days to cooking, and while it does make mealtime easy, it just didn't work for my family's schedule. This way I still benefit from do-aheads without dedicating the block of time.

Leah, I wish I could see my grass. Only another 2 feet of snow cover to melt before that becomes a reality! Seedlings will be hanging out inside until then.

Rona, I do container herb gardens every year because I have had great results and can move them under the overhang of the house during hail storms so I don't lose all my herbs!

We don't have a yard but I've been thinking of having a container garden.
Your menu sounds delicious!

I am planning my garden already. It is going to be a good garden year here in E. WA, we have had a very mild winter and are already seeing bees.

I roasted chicken yesterday for dinner. I froze the leftovers to use later this week in chicken & broccoli calzones. Love having part of the prep work done ahead of time.

Looks like a delicious week. I love to bake bread (actually, I love to use my bread machine to bake bread!!) but I can't resist Panera. We've got pot roast on our menu this week too. Must be that time of year!
