My blog had its first birthday, and to celebrate, I’m giving away cookbooks to you, the readers, the ones that keep me coming back. It all started with a post on carrot cake, and 219 posts later, here I am, one year into this not-as-new venture and a crash behind me even!
As I was writing this post (the first time) my host updated a few things (read: deleted) and magically all 219 posts disappeared. I was less than impressed with the magic trick. But all was well by the afternoon when my very resourceful husband found the cause of the problem in the database. And instead of installing backups and fixing missing portions of this and that and trying to put my blog back together like I thought I’d be doing at 10:30 a.m. this morning, I’m rewriting my blog’s birthday post with all 219 posts safe and sound. I was and still am very thankful.
I wanted to say thank you to all of you that keep coming back reading week after week, and I could think of no better way to do it than by showing you my motivation, the other bloggers out there that seem to do it all.
What I’m Giving Away:
One copy of The Pioneer Woman Cooks: Recipes from an Accidental Country Girl by Ree Drummond. Ree is…well, if you don’t know, you should. She is delightful, witty and talented. Plus, she likes butter and cream and real food that your mom made. Please note: This is not my signed copy that I stood in a very long line for (and that MM signed), because I did not have the foresight to buy two books. I know. Shame on me. However! I do have two t-shirts. One is worn weekly by a certain almost 10-year-old that resides under my roof, but the other I have been saving…
One Pioneer Woman Book Tour T-shirt, size medium. This has not been worn. It has sat, folded in my room, waiting for today. For you. If you didn’t get one in one of Ree’s giveaways or on the book signing itself, this one is for you. Because I love you.
One copy of The Steamy Kitchen Cookbook: 101 Asian Recipes Simple Enough for Tonight’s Dinner by Jaden Hair. I love Jaden. She’s funny, sweet and giving (she followed me and tweeted me on Twitter before I even knew what I was doing). Plus, she’s got a hand in everything and manages to keep it all going, which I both admire and respect. And she makes delicious food.
One copy of Blog Aid: Recipes for Haiti. Blog Aid was the brainchild of Julie Van Rosendaal. She managed to get 27 food bloggers together to contribute to a cookbook (including me!), have it printed, and sold 1818 cookbooks to raise $47,166.00 for Haiti in less than a month. Julie, you amaze me.
Subscribe in an RSS feed or by email! Leave me a comment letting me know you did or already are, and then tell me what it is you would like to see here during Year 2 at Food for My Family.
For a second entry:
Because I am officially a year into this, I thought that it was time for me to grow up and get a Facebook page. Become a fan of Food for My Family on Facebook, and then leave a comment letting me know you’re a fan. By becoming a fan, you’ll also be entered to win a copy of Healthy Bread in 5 Minutes a Day by Jeff Hertzberg and Zoe Francois! (They both live here in Minnesota, not too far from me.)
Both giveaways (here on the blog and on Facebook) end on Wednesday, 3/24 at 11:59 p.m. CDT. Winner will be selected from Random.org.
Good luck and thank you so much for being here with me. I look forward to another year of serving up the food we’re eating here at Food for My Family!
