Hello, November. I have to say that while I’m not necessarily thrilled November is here already, I am pretty excited for the holiday season. We’ve been planning and organizing already in preparation, and it looks like November may actually be a pretty calm month. I’m excited to get to baking, and we’re even having a mock Thanksgiving dinner this Friday. I can’t wait to play with the leftovers. Turkey leftovers are my favorite!
Remember when I said I was going to take less work and spend more time doing things I enjoy? Mmm…yeah. So, that may not have actually happened. I may feel just as overwhelmed as I have for the last two weeks. It is definitely possible. I have to turn it around. As a consequence of my workaholic nature, you’ll notice the enchiladas are being held over from last week. I have a new plan of attack this week that involves scheduling my life commitments as if they were work.
Monday – Tandoori cornish game hens, saffron rice, apple crisp!
Tuesday – Beef enchiladas, roasted five-pepper salsa
Wednesday – Beer-braised roast, roasted carrots and onions, spring mix salads
Thursday – French toast bake, fruit salad
Friday – Roasted turkey, stuffing, Martha’s roasted garlic mashed potatoes, green beans
Recipes to look for here at Food for My Family this week: Cardamom apple crisp and caramelized onion and blue cheese pasta. And if you missed it last week, my grandma’s brandy apfelradln are my absolute favorite and worth checking out.

Thank you for providing the recipe links. I want to investigate the Roasted Potato recipe further.
I hope that your week isn’t overwhelming. I live that way for 2 years. Ugh!
I’m always looking for different meal ideas. That’s why I love MPM.
You have a great week!

We are having turkey this week too! After baking it for tomorrow’s supper, I am using some of the left-overs to make a dressing for Sunday’s lunch!
