12 wonton wrappers

Lightly grease a cutting board, cookie sheet or other flat surface. Wet the edges of one wonton wrapper with the water. Place a teaspoon or so of cream cheese in the center of the wonton wrapper. Fold edges to seal., releasing any extra air that may get trapped. Place on greased surface and cover with a damp cloth. Continue with remaining wrappers and cream cheese.
Heat oil to 350º F to 375º F. Place wontons in oil and fry for 2 minutes. Flip and continue frying for an additional 90 seconds or until wonton starts to brown evenly. Remove from oil. Drain on paper towel and serve.
Makes 12 wontons.
