A Flirty Apron for You!

Yesterday I planted my garden. Finally. I planted tomatoes, herbs, squash and cucumbers. I got dirt on my clothes and my hands. There was SUN. Today, I’m giving away an apron in preparation for all the splatters and spills that will come as my garden grows.

Flirty Aprons sent me this adorable cherry blossom apron, and I was instantly in love. In truth, I’ve never owned an apron, and it wasn’t because I didn’t need one. Evidence can be seen in full effect during the Christmas cookie season. I simply didn’t like what was available to me when I would go to purchase one. They all conjured up images of the terrible aprons I wore working in restaurants, which is where I got into the habit of wiping my hands off on my apron. Turns out that doesn’t work so well when you’re constantly grabbing the bottom of your shirt to do the same thing.

Flirty Aprons are anything but boring or drab. They offer a wide selection of trendy and vintage aprons for women, men and kids! I personally have my eye on a matching cherry blossom aprons for my girls, who have been dancing around in mine.

  2. I don’t currently wear an apron and it shows, especially since I’ve started making my own bread. I agree that the ones out there tend to be less than attractive. These are cute though!

  3. I wear one once in a blue moon, but I generally end up regretting it the times that I don’t… I’m a little messy 🙂 Maybe if I had one as lovely as that one I would remember to put it on…

  5. Those aprons are adorable! I never wear one because I don’t have one cute enough. I did once…but it was ruined and I haven’t found a decent one since. I’ve been wanting to make some for forever…but I have about 20 other sewing projects I should finish first..

  7. I made my own apron in jr High out of a big piece of denim. It is less than cute and a far cry from Flirty. My husband will wear it. I wipe my hands on it and if I’m not wearing it, I wipe them on my jeans! oops.

  30. Cute aprons are so hot right now! I wear one when baking but it’s not really all that cute. I also have a half apron to carry my gardening tools around in when I’m outside.

  34. i have owned an apron for about 6 years (before i got married) and i’ve never worn it! But judging by my shirt after making chicken salad yesterday, I should be wearing one!

  40. I always wear an apron when I’m baking. If I’m doing anything involving flour it inevitably ends up all over me, so an apron is really necessary.

  46. I have learned to always keep an apron hanging from a cabinet knob in my kitchen. I get so spattered full of grease when I cook. I don’t care what my apron looks like….wore enough plain old white ones growing up in my father’s bakery….but I do like the way my clothes look when I wear one.

  60. I have never worn an apron for gardening, but that is a fantastic idea. I rarely wear one for cooking. I really should because I always end up with splatters, but I just don’t have one pretty enough to leave out and remember to use.

  69. I personally do not wear an aprons, even though my mother has made me some pretty cool ones in the past. However, my daughters (13 & 10) always wear their aprons while they are in the kitchen either whipping up some fabulous dessert or making their signature chicken pot pies! It is truly a treat to have kids that love to experiment in the kitchen and get a sense of real accomplishment when something is made and enjoyed by everyone!

  73. Im horrible at remembering to wear an apron, whether it’s cooking or gardening (I don’t have a garden, I have pots on the balcony outside my apartment LoL). Have a terrible habit of wiping hands on clothing (pants mostly) … ugh!! LoL

  93. I end up cooking in my work clothes a lot, and that’s when I’m likely to reach for my apron. But I never, ever, EVER sit down at the table to eat without taking it off first. That’s a southern rule y’all.

  95. I do love love love that the apron is making a come back. I feel very fancy and culinary when wearing an apron. I feel like I have my uniform on for creating something special and fantastic in the kitchen. My children and I started wearing denim aprons from Pampered Chief a few (11 years)ago. We were all excited about the apron and when we cooked together we always got out our aprons. They also came in handy when we were going to eat something messy!!!!!

    A great big thanks in advance should I be the one chosen for the apron. It is really pretty and would dress me up even if I am wearing sweats.

  97. I am apron-less as well. I just graduated from college and moved back to my parents’ house. I told my mom the other day that we need to spend time cooking together this summer. This would be a great incentive!!

  107. I also don’t wear an apron, although I am the sort who should (left-handed and absent-minded). I have a couple of Williams-Sonoma aprons because they look so practical, but they lack panache and panache is what would motivate me to put one on. So they remain on their hooks and give me dark looks as I walk by. The red, white and black apron in the top pic has panache. I think I could rock it.

  112. drennen-shouldis@att.net says aprons can be an ugly piece of material wrapped around your waist or you can get a cuties one that is adorable on that it is a toss up what you want to get your dirty hands on; I keep a dish towel handy. I wear aprons on special occasions. I also made several for the Church; we were always needing them there for men and women. A apron can also add decor to your kitchen.
    I love the gifts and ideas you offer, but not sure how to do the blog thing. Bless you Donna
