Considering New Year’s Eve is tomorrow, I thought I’d get on sharing our card before the holidays are behind us. Maybe I was aiming for Valentine’s Day? I joked about it on Twitter today in an attempt to conceal my shame.
In an attempt to rectify the end-of-the-year disorganization that seems to be controlling me the last two weeks, HERE is our Christmas/New Year/12th Day of Christmas/January card:
I’m looking forward to our first full year here on Food for My Family, and I’m thrilled to have the support of all of you out there on the ‘net. I hope your holiday season has been full. Full of everything you need it to be full of, whether it be friends, family, love, joy, giving, receiving or something completely different.
As far as resolutions go, well, see, I’ve never been very good at making them, but there are a few things I’m hoping to do in 2010. Here’s a very incomplete list:
* Get organized. I’m kicking the year off right by joining Mandi at Organizing your Way for her series 31 Days of Organizing for a Better 2010. I will also continue to contribute at Complete Organizing Solutions, so be sure to watch me get my kitchen in order over there.
* Set financial goals. Inspired by Tsh’s post on her family’s financial goals, I’ll be setting a number of goals for us this year so that we can continue to live life without using credit. Goal #1 is to pay off our college loans, which shouldn’t be too hard to accomplish. From there we have several house projects that need to be saved for, so we’ll be creating deadline goals for each of those.
* Add to the “other” topics of the blog. While I made a choice this summer to focus on trying to build up a few recipes for the blog, I’ve strayed from sharing all the other things I initially had in mind to share here, like what we feed our kids, how we manage to cook like we do and get everything else done successfully (with varying levels of “success,” mind you). I’m looking to put more time into the Kitchen Sink, nutrition and the environmentally-friendly areas of the site, and hopefully it will give me a chance to write a bit more.Again, thank you for being here and sharing with us. We’re grateful for you and look forward to getting to know you more in 2010! Happy New Year!

[…] Recipes to look for here at Food for My Family this week: Well, gosh. I’ve been bad about everything lately. I figured a pancetta-topped deviled egg was in the near future, as well as that kugelhopf I promised earlier. Decided I must share cheese from Santa Rosa with soup first. And our Christmas card. […]

Sounds like some quality resolutions, Shaina. I’m with you on the first two and need to add one more: get rid of the rest of this baby weight.

I should copy your resolutions, they seem perfectly adequate!! Except that I don’t manage to do this, and I don’t even have kids, like you do (which are, by the way, the cutest. what a lovely holiday card!!!), so HUGE KUDOS for everything you’re already doing!!
Happy new year!
